Deficiencies of the new election procedure and advantages of the newly elected president: Hunchakian Party’s assessment

With the election of Armen Sargsyan, Armenian reality entered a new phase. Armen Mkrtchyan, the head of the political council of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, adds that with the election of Armen Sargsyan we had an election without chaos, an election, unfortunately, without other candidates. “We also held elections of a candidate from only one political force, and the elections took place the way they were predetermined,” says Mkrtchyan.

Armen Mkrtchyan attached great importance to the role of human, stressing that in the case of Armen Sargsyan, we are dealing with a person who is at the source of independent Armenia and has a vision of the future of Armenia. “During these years, we had many faceless and adventurous leaders. At least, I'm glad that he does not belong to the ‘brave cowards’,” he says.
