On March 1, 2008, they shot nation. "It’s a phenomenon in Armenian new political life to charge former president  with a particularly serious crime, choosing  imprisonment as the measure of restraint. And I think this will lead to certain consequences, including political ones",- says the lawyer Norayr Norikyan.

As for the charges brought against  Kocharyan, Norayr Norikyan notes that Armenian Armed Forces could be put on alert only in the case of emergency martial law in accordance with acting Constitution. "As a lawyer  I believe that  constitutional powers of some structures were exceeded which led to country's constitutional system overthrown",- Norikyan says.

Norikyan also mentions  that Kocharyan's isolation can bring him closer to the Republicans despite disagreements between them over the years. "The task of the new government is to implement everything within the law and exclude any political process or use of a political component",- emphasizes Norikyan.
