Daniel Ioannisyan: the publication of school principals’ recordings is in the higher interests of the society
“The publication of recordings of general education and pre-school institutions’ principals is in the higher interests of the society,” says the founder of "Union of Informed Citizens" NGO Daniel Ioannisyan, whose organization has implemented and released these recordings. “I mean, knowing what school principals do is of more importance than the unwritten law according to which phone conversations cannot be recorded and released without permission.”
He assures that no law has been violated, moreover, in our legislation; there is no such restriction-prohibiting recording of the phone conversation by one of the sides. “There is a limitation in the case of family confidences, but here we have no personal data. Within these unwritten laws we have not published the conversations with the 22 headmasters who have not accepted the fact of enrollment or impact on the voters,” Ioannisyan explains.
He claims, they called all principals only on weekdays, during working hours, and mainly on landlines. "We even had a case when they said, the headmaster went to the election headquarters for a meeting," Ioannisyan says.
He tries to predetermine the Republicans possible hypothesis that the school principals “are doing them a disservice.” “This refers to 114 headmasters and 56 officials and we are obviously dealing with the whole system; it is a complex pyramid and the schoolmasters don’t do this all on their own initiative,” the founder of "Union of Informed Citizens" NGO claims.
