Constantine Orbelian: One should practice slowly but act quickly
I have never wanted to become an astronaut or a tractor driver because I knew that I should make a music. No one has forced me to do this. It was so natural. The artistic director of Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan considers herself “abnormal” in this respect.
“Parents cannot discover a talent because they often wish their children were better than they actually are. It is right to force a child to do something because no child, unless, of course, he is as “abnormal” as I am, would like to practice,” Orbelian says.
The way from an “unusual” child to the artistic director of Armenia’s main theater was long, interesting, and extraordinary. The life story of US-born Orbelian, the family history, the parents՛ motives of moving to the United States, as well as the unique style of the talented group leader, non-standard approaches, desires, and programs are revealed in the program “Hard Talk”.
