Armenians are not the people who fight for their rights. Armenians lack civil courage. Executive director of “Against violation of law” NGO Larisa Alaverdyan explains it by the lack of habits and knowledge in this regard. "Most people are willing to complain about the world, the authorities, but they are not ready to fight at the office for their friend's rights,” she explains.

Which one is more important, dignity of the individual or national dignity? “Human rights concepts are based on the human dignity. If we are talking about national dignity, this means we are talking about dignity of the individual. National dignity is a vain idea unless it is based on human dignity,” the public figure emphasizes.

According to Larisa Alaverdyan, people fighting for our national character does not constitute a “critical mass”. “We cannot say that all other nations are of that kind, but there is a “critical mass”, which keeps that character,” she clarifies.
