Confusing references

If the media does not have its own source, then it has to refer to the other media. Sometimes, however, these links are rather mixed. For example, the media writes, “as BBC reports”, but refers to CNN, which in turn refers to Fox news. Or even more bizarre case when the Armenian media reports, “As reported by haqqin.az, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia has made such a declaration.”
Here we have not a reference, but a reference to a made reference. This phenomenon can be explained by two reasons: either it is the result of the negligence of the media, or it deliberately tries to hide the original source, providing misinformation.
