Vagharshak Harutyunyan: If we concede the Artsakh issue, the war will reach the Armenian border

There was no case when Armenian side did not respond to Azerbaijani actions.

If Armenia agrees to resolve the Artsakh conflict in Azerbaijan's scenario, the war will reach the Armenian border. And if Azerbaijan saw our weakness, they would resort to military actions. Former defense minister of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan considers it an undeniable fact. Speaking about the latest suppressive actions of the Armenian side, the former minister assures, “there was no case when Armenian side did not respond to Azerbaijani actions.”

“Who said that we are waiting for something, who said that we are conducting passive policy. The Armenian side just did not show it in the past; this time they found it necessary to show the actions,” he notes.

While comparing the capacities of Armenia and Artsakh with those of Azerbaijan, Harutyunyan emphasizes that having fewer resources and less potential the Armenian side does not allow Azerbaijan to start a war. “Over the last 5-6 years, Azerbaijan has spent about $ 20 billion on military development. The question arises how could we resist,” he asks, adding. “Due to our policy.” The details of the conversation in the program “Questioning the Powerholder”.
