Volodya Avetisyan: We do not love ourselves, we want to destroy us

Volodya Avetisyan, the colonel of the reserve, who has passed his military way under the leadership of Leonid Azgaldyan, started an active struggle in 2013 to solve the veterans’ social and health problems. A few months later, he was arrested, then sentenced to six years in prison.

Avetisyan stresses that the most difficult period of his life was the war years. “I did my best not to be defeated. Defeat would mean a death for me, and it does not matter that physically I would survive,” the veteran notes. The greatest elation Volodya Avetisyan felt was after the liberation of Karvachar.

Avetisyan, who does not tolerate social injustice towards veterans, reiterates that he is going to continue the struggle. “I am not a savior, however, being an Armenian I must do everything to establish the rule of law in the country. If we are not fair, we will not be powerful,” Colonel Avetisyan emphasizes.
