The political forces that fought against Constitutional changes did not obtain seats in the National Assembly
Serzh Sargsyan’s political system has never been as strong as it is today. Another question is how did they achieve such a strength? The deputy chairman of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan hastens to answer this question. This power was strengthened by deepening of democracy, effective governance, mistrust and increase of migration.
"This is a challenge, especially when there is a military threat. In an environment, where the rottenness of the domestic political system, an unpromising state of economic development, and an external challenge can be seen, the elite has no plans, no ways out, this means that no matter how strong Serzh Sargsyan's positions seem, this all may suddenly change," Zurabyan emphasizes.
According to the ANC deputy chairman, one of the parts of the strength of the political system, that is, the parliament was formed by the forces who adopted to a greater or lesser extent the results of constitutional changes. “All those forces that fought against these changes are not in the National Assembly today. It is obvious that the result of the parliamentary elections was a deal concluded between the political forces and Serzh Sargsyan. It is difficult to call them elections, it was more a distribution of mandates by the prize committee under the leadership of Serzh Sargsyan,” Levon Zurabyan says.
