The executive director of the NGO “Union of Information Technology Companies” Karen Vardanyan assures that in those years if we continued to develop, we would become the so-called Taiwan in the region.
There are forces that do not want Armenia to develop in terms of technology. In the early 90s, there was a national awakening and a powerful industry. It was only necessary to link all this and remain the strongest technological country in the region, but none of the international "players" benefited from this, so later deindustrialization was organized," Vardanyan notes.
As for the modern times, according to Vardanyan, the government does not realize the importance of the IT sphere. “Today, the demand for developers has reached to 2 million in Europe and the US.
