Medialiteracy on media-cancer
Media often writes on medical topics, though in many cases the journalist does not have the appropriate background, and often collects materials here and there without really understanding what he or she is writing about. The result is a situation where we can easily stumble upon a text with the headline like "Fasting is an effective remedy against cancer".
In the case of cancer, the problem is that if a person does not visit a doctor in time and starts “curing” himself/herself with means of starvation, then there might come a time when even medical intervention will not help.
Fasting, snails, soda, and so on without end - neither of this has any relation to cancer treatment. In general, this is not the issue to address media. Even if a user believes in such nonsense and starts "alternative treatment", then certainly the author is not going to be the one who saves his or her life.
