The first and the simplest rule is that passwords should not be short. They must contain at least ten characters, both numbers and letters. The other principle is that the password should not be predictable. It should not contain the names of your children, birth date, telephone number, etc. Finally, the most important principle is that you may create an unpredictable, complex password, but using it for several accounts at the same time, you will face the problems. Guessing your password the "villain" will have an opportunity to hack several accounts.
