The foreign political and politico-military year, according to the research fellow at the University of Leicester

Both Armenia and Azerbaijan are trying to reassess the experience gained during the April war.

When analyzing the transformation of the security system from an expert perspective, analyst, research fellow at the University of Leicester Eduard Abrahamyan first highlights several facts.

“Although the defense budget of Azerbaijan was relatively small last year, it continues to acquire weapons, the rhetoric is not reducing, it is on the anti-Armenian, militaristic level. However, an important fact should be noted that both sides are trying to reassess the experience gained during the April war,” the analyst says.

According to Abrahamyan, in terms of military operations, the Armenian side changes its strategic and tactical approaches. “It seems that the defense doctrine is being transformed to some extent, as well as the recalculation of the possibility of asymmetric response is moved forward,” the expert says.
