Armenia does not pass to the parliamentary system, it passes to authoritarian government. Edmon Marukyan.

Presidential elections are simply eliminated to avoid commotions in the country.

Armenia will not have a parliamentary form of government. Armenia passes to an authoritarian regime. MP Edmond Marukyan is convinced that the whole campaign around the parliamentary form of government and systemic advantages served only for one goal. "We were not told that by passing to this system, we simply eliminate  presidential elections in order to avoid commotions in the country.  We all know what is happening in the country during the presidential elections, that is not happening during  parliamentary elections",- notes the deputy.

Edmon Marukyan adds that the modified constitution gives  opportunity for parliamentary governance. "It does not mean that these changes do not  make it possible. No, they do, but for realization of the opportunities  the  constitution should be implemented. That is to say, we have passed from semi-presidential system to parliamentary system, but within the implemantation we go to authoritarian regime where there is no parliamentary government, "says the MP.
