Armenia between the Russian-Georgian dialogue: observation of the expert in Georgian studie

There is an alternative to Lars, and that alternative is air and ferry transportation

In the framework of the Karasin-Abashidze format set up for the dialogue between Georgia and Russia, the issue of the establishing transport corridors between the two countries is also being discussed. What opportunities can these discussions regarding cargo transportation create, particularly for Armenia, taking into account the fact that there is a problem of territorial integrity between these two countries? And is the excitement of Armenia justified?

Johnny Melikyan, expert in Georgian studies, in response to this question, first of all, notes that there are expectations in Armenia both within society and authorities and then adds, “At present, we should understand there is an alternative to Lars, and that alternative is ferry and air transport.”

What is the alternative to Lars? What to expect from the improvement of the Russian-Georgian relations? What kind of relations do the neighbouring countries currently having no diplomatic relations have? How much is the turnover between Russia and Georgia? Find the answers to these questions in the program “Paradigm”.
