Richard Giragosian: Moscow will improve relations between the EU and EAEU thanks to the RA- EU agreement

Moscow is interested in a partial deepening of the relations between Armenia and EU due to which Russia will find ways of cooperation with EU, moreover increase the confidence in EAEU.

“Paradigm” program hosts the founding director of the Regional studies center Richard Giragosian. The discussions are focused on the relations between Armenia and the EU, the new framework agreement between Armenia and the European Union and the role of Moscow in it. Giragosian supposes that Moscow is also interested in a partial deepening of the relations between Armenia and the EU due to which Russia will not only find ways of cooperation with the European Union but increase the confidence in EAEU as well. Discussing the new RA-EU framework agreement, the head of the Regional studies center underlines three main factors: political, economic and security. For Giragosian, the economic part of the agreement is especially interesting as Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union.
